Shaurya Patel

I am Shaurya Patel, a Junior at Hoover High School in Birmingham, Alabama. The first time I considered starting a non-profit was six months ago, when I realized that there are people in hospitals, specifically children, who are going through difficult times but don’t have anything to cheer them up during their recovery. After brainstorming, I connected with Aksh, and we decided to start Healing Hope Foundation, which would create care boxes for special days in these children’s lives. -Shaurya

Aksh Amin

I am Aksh Amin, a Freshmen at Indian Springs School in Pelham, Alabama. I first became aware of the challenges faced by hospitalized patients when my friend, who was battling cancer, shared his experience with me at the age of eight. Many years after this experience, I felt inspired to start a nonprofit. After connecting with Shaurya, we founded the Healing Hope Foundation to help hospitalized patients feel safe and comforted through different care packages that help brighten their day. -Aksh Amin
